ABOUT US

The name MAIMÈRE is a tribute to my mother, “Mai,” who started our family’s fine jewelry business back in 1975 out of our home in suburban Detroit with only a few jade and pearl pieces that she sold to local retailers. Over the next 50 years, through her tireless energy and diligence, she grew the company with my father to become one of the most prominent wholesalers in the Midwest, serving nearly a thousand independent retailers, widely recognized for their exceptional quality and unique color stone, pearl, and diamond jewelry. When I reflect on their journey, it is the quintessential American dream.


My strongest childhood memories are connected to the family business: hearing my mother’s voice on calls to her retailers, accompanying my parents on sales trips and tradeshows, and learning how to string pearls and finish a necklace with a clasp. While my journey has taken different twists and turns across retail, luxury, and entrepreneurship, in many ways, all of these experiences have culminated in this moment back to the beginning.


MAIMÈRE is rooted in the legacy of my family's fine jewelry business and founded to meet the growing demand for buyers to expand their personal jewelry collections through a trusted and knowledgeable resource. I am passionate about educating buyers about the value of jewelry as not only an expression of individuality and style but as a true art form.

At MAIMÈRE, each piece in our collection is designed and handcrafted from our team of world class jewelry designers and manufacturers across the globe. We have cultivated these important relationships over the past 50 years. Our jewelry is set in platinum, 14K or 18K solid gold. We do not use silver or gold plating on any of our pieces and responsibly source the finest quality AAA-grade gemstones and pearls through our manufacturers in Hong Kong, Thailand and Japan.

WHAT DOES THE NAME MAIMÈRE COME FROM?

The name "Maimère" is a tribute to my mother. Her name in Chinese is "Mai," which means "beautiful." "Mère" is the word for mother in French.

WHAT IS FINE JEWELRY?

Fine jewelry is made of precious natural or genuine gemstones (not lab grown) such as diamonds, emeralds, rubies, and sapphires, and precious metals such as gold, platinum, or silver. Fine jewelry is made to last and often holds its value over time, often passed down from generation to generation.  

WHAT IS YOUR AUTHENTICITY GUARANTEE?

We guarantee that our pieces are made with natural and authentic gemstones in 14K, 18K gold or platinum as specified in the product descriptions. Any exceptions are highlighted in the description. Due to the handcrafted nature of each individual piece, metal and gemstone specifications and weight may vary slightly from the descriptions. 

HOW DO I INITIATE A RETURN?

Please contact info@maimere.com with your order number and indicate the piece(s) you would like to return. We will send a mailing label via email. All returns must include the original packaging and tags. Once the piece(s) are received and accepted, refunds are usually processed within 3-10 business days depending on your payment provider. 

WHAT ARE MAIMÈRES SHIPPING OPTIONS?

Maimère offers complimentary delivery in the continental United States, Alaska, Hawaii and the District of Columbia. Maimere does not ship to PO boxes, APO/FPO addresses or hotels. Currently, Maimere does not ship internationally. Orders > $500 are shipped with Express delivery (1-2 days). 

HOW DO I GIFT THROUGH MAIMÈRE'S WEBSITE?

Once you have selected your gift piece(s), please add to the cart. You will see a box on your checkout page that says “Write a gift message.” We will handwrite your message onto a card and wrap your gift. Please ensure that the shipping address is correct for the recipient. If you want to track the order, please use your email in the checkout fields. If you would prefer the gift recipient to track the order, please use their email in the checkout fields. 

WHAT SHOULD I DO IF MY PACKAGE IS LOST, STOLEN, DAMAGED, OR DELAYED? 

If you have an issue with your package, please contact us immediately at info@maimere.com so that we can work to resolve it as promptly as possible. In the event that a package is missing after the carrier has confirmed delivery, neither Maimère nor the carrier is liable to offer a replacement or refund.
